Gov. Jerry Brown<\/a> considered canceling his trip to Paris after Wednesday’s mass shooting\u00a0in San Bernardino, but he decided to move forward with his plans when it became clear that the\u00a0attack was over.<\/p>\n

“If there were still active shooters out there, he would not have come,” said Nancy McFadden, a top aide to the governor.<\/p>\n

During the attack, a\u00a0husband and wife\u00a0opened fire on an office gathering<\/a>, killing 14, before being\u00a0shot and killed by police. Authorities are investigating the suspects’\u00a0connections with extremists.<\/a><\/p>\n

Brown delayed his trip by a day to travel\u00a0to San Bernardino for a meeting with law enforcement officials.\u00a0He arrived in Paris on Saturday, where he’s scheduled to participate in nearly\u00a0two dozen events related to the United Nations\u00a0summit on climate change.<\/p>\n
